Author Guidelines

Structure
The paper should be structured as follows:

• Article title
• Author’s names and contact details for publication
• Full contact details for the corresponding author
• Abstract
• Keywords
• Text (please note that there is no need to submit an abstract)
• Figure captions in correct place in text
• Tables in correct place in text
• Acknowledgements
• References

References
Please use the Harvard system for all references. E.g.:

In-text reference:
(Newman, 2007: 154)

Book:
Trigger, B. G. 2006. A History of Archaeological Thought. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press.

Chapter in book:
Anawak, J. 1989. Inuit Perceptions of the Past. in R. Layton (ed.) Who Needs the Past? Indigenous Values and Archaeology: 45-50. London: Routledge.

Journal article:
Ucko, P. 2000. Enlivening a 'Dead' Past, Conservation and Management of Archaeological Sites 4: 67-92.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
